Ballroom Baby is a registered DanceSport studio with qualified instructors who can guide you through registration, partner options, training and preparation. Competition prep can take up to six months, so it’s worth getting started early.

No. We offer both recreational and competitive dance programs, and if you're interested in competing, our instructors can help you prepare for local, regional, or national Dancesport competitions regardless of your starting level.

We run a dedicated Competition Practice Class on Sundays, and competition training can also occur one-on-one in private lessons, so contact us us to book.

Ballroom dance consists of three styles: traditional Standard (waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, foxtrot and quickstep), the fiery Latin American rhythms (samba, cha cha, rumba, Paso Doble and jive), and our favourite sequence dances, New Vogue.

No. Many of our students come along without a partner and make great friends at class. We'll do our best to match you with someone to dance with, or share partners if the numbers of leaders and followers aren't even.

Yes. Our coaching team includes dancers with serious competitive pedigree. For example, Zac leads our adult social, advanced and experienced classes and is available for private lessons in ballroom and new vogue for competition and high level medals, while other instructors have made every state and national final, including a 3rd place finish at the Australian Dancesport Championships.

Yes. The Corio Bay DanceSport Festival is registered with Dancesport Australia and features a range of amateur and recreational events for all ages, making it a great warm-up before bigger competitions later in the year.
